19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent the Russian player secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a torrid year, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface since that period of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an better service.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the final five games to go ahead.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.

The opponent rescued four early break points in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, he secured the win with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
